I've seen Capture One for 50% off before and I didn't know enough about it to warrant buying it. I'm just curious if anyone knows how often Capture One goes on sale and what times of year if they follow a schedule?
I've messed around with the demo and I need more than 30 days to really get the hang of it, but I did like the RAW processing capability. I'm currently hoping for another point release so I can get another 30 days and really spend some more time with it. At 50% off I might be tempted to just give it a go, but I'm definitely not ready to plunk down $300 on it without more experience with the program. I don't know of any recurring discount, although Phase One's FAQ did mention subscribing to their newsletter for occasional discounts.
If you're still on the fence you could always opt for a subscription (because everything needs a subscription these days). There are two single user options to choose from: • 12 month subscription, $15/ month = $180 • 3 month subscription, $25/ month = $75 I've been using Capture One for, I think, about six years now, and would never go back to anything else.
The initial price is high, but upgrades after are reasonable (I went from 7 to 8 for $99). Oh, there is one other option. If you use a medium format digital back, you can use Capture One for free to process the files:P • • • •. Yeah I thought of going the subscription route for 3 months, but at $75 for 3 months I might as well just wait for a sale or another point release for the trial to reset. I might try to hold out until black friday and maybe they'll be running a significant sale then.
Windows Xp Professional Sp3 Sata Drivers Iso there. I've also thought about contacting support to see if they could extend my trial another 30 days. I spent a fair amount of time with it, but 30 days just isn't enough when you're learning a complicated program at the same time.
Thanks for the suggestions! And I'll think about that Medium Format back:D • • • • •.
