I purchased this Magic Chef Microwave Oven on 16 October 2017 at the Calle Ocho Home Depot for my small efficiency apt. And I am very happy with its performance.
I've had many microwave ovens over the years, but none of them could heat my morning cup of Cuban coffee as fast as this Magic Chef does (30 seconds flat), and it's also excellent at heating the small Chef Boyardee Ravioli or Spaghetti containers (1 minute and it's steaming hot) that are usually my quick dinners. I highly recommend this Oven to anyone with limited space and or resources. Rated 4 out of 5 by JimmyM from This unit meets the majority of my needs. I mostly use it for warming/reheating, etc. This is my second Magic Chef microwave. I had the same model for some years. I use it frequently throughout the day, opening and closing at least a dozen times. Because of that kind of stress, the handle eventually broke off. This wasn't a problem at first but, since the handle is part of the door frame, eventually the whole plastic frame fell off, necessitating replacement of the unit.
I only mention it because this would not be the best choice for a break room or a family that relies on the microwave for heavy use. I've resolved to handle this one with a bit more care.
Overall, given the price, the compact size and weight, and ease-of-use, and since it will only see modest use, I was confident enough to purchase another one. Rated 4 out of 5 by oldfurr from Excellent small micro for my usage. Apartment dweller here, I appreciate the small countertop footprint of this machine. I have used this for a few weeks now. Good small low power micro. My modern 11' plates have to be put in at a small angle through the door but have no problem once inside, my old Franciscan Ware plates go right in.
Winmugen Screenpack Download on this page. Good value basic micro in my opinion. Low noise, simple and fully choosable power levels and times, works very nicely for my needs. I have no clue as to energy efficiency. I do recommend this machine. Rated 4 out of 5 by cabnoble from It's a good microwave for the price.
Serves the purpose. I don't like that you have to push so ma. It's a good microwave for the price. Serves the purpose.
I don't like that you have to push so many buttons if you want to heat something for like 15 or 20 seconds. Don't like that you have to push so many buttons to use the timer. The plastic on the start button is already starting to wear off, but.it was cheap, so you get what you pay for. Our old microwave was a much nicer one, better brand that lasted for almost 20 years but I didn't want to pay that much for a replacement.
So this will do the job for now. Rated 4 out of 5 by Simon from Nice microwave for small spaces This microwave works fine, If you press quick buttons 1 to 6 it switches on (pressing 1 turns it on for 1 minute, 2 for 2 minutes and so on.) the 'start button' on bottom also acts as 30 second increased interval so pressing it adds 30 seconds additional time each time you press it. The thing that's not very convenient on this microwave is the door, you have to give it some force in order to open the door, as a result you can end up moving the whole microwave towards yourself if you are using 1 hand to open the door, the way to get around this is to add 4 pieces double sided sticky tape (or carpenters tape) to the microwave legs to prevent it from moving.
